Caribou Migration Trips

These trips offer a great day of wildlife viewing. You will not only be able to view the Nelchina herd of caribou, but your chances of seeing Alaska’s other wildlife is enhanced. Your guided trip will start at our home base in Gakona, Alaska and will take you to mile 1 on the Denali Hwy. From there we will go about 35 miles. The Alaskan tundra of rolling hills extends right up to the mountains. The scene is picture perfect. In August and September the fall colors are breath taking. During September the Caribou cross the Denali tundra and dot the mountain side. This is a great time to see them.

Half Day Trip: 5 hours on the Denali Hwy $100.00 per person
Full Day Trip: 8 hours on the Denali Hwy $150.00 per person
Trips include Scenic ride, lunch and guide.
